I am an CS/electronics engineer and I am looking for career in applied Statistical and Mathematical techniques in Computational Genomics area or other Biological area. I learned about basics of Genome and its importance. What I wish to understand is, what are the career opportunities and what type of companies / Research University are working on this areas? What could be our approach to go there, like to learn basics of concerned area?

May be Simmons Institute in UC Berkeley and Stanford University are the best places to work. In Japan there are long term funding under the JSPS program for research in related fields
