Why does the Euro symbol not use the specified font in IE?
-
The specified font is 'tahoma' and font-weight:bold is also specified. However, the euro sign is using a serif font and ignoring my styling. It's fine in other browsers, but causing problems in IE7. I haven't tried any other version of IE.

Answer:
IE7 in particular has issues displaying the euro symbol when it has font-weight of bold. There is no particular reason other than that IE sucks in general. If you take the bold off it should follow normal styling rules. As far as I can tell from some internet research, this is a bug and supposedly was brought to the attention of the IE team back in 2008. As with all things IE though, wouldn't count on it being fixed any time soon (if ever).(Reference: http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1463904&page=62)
