What is middle school like in South Korea?

I have this friend I have been friends with her since we were both 12 years old. We went to middle school and high school together. She moved to Korea a few years ago and we email each other. But her letters to me are very short. She asks me stuff about how I am doing a such. I answer her questions

I don't know how Korea runs its Internet service, but I would not be surprised if the government monitored electronic communication for cultural appropriateness or state security purposes. The wrong phrase or words could get her in some kind of trouble. I could be wrong, but it's a possibility.
