What is management information systems?

What Master's degree should I get if want to be top-level management in an IT and information systems company?

  • Computer engineering, computer science, management, management IT, industrial engineering,or maybe you know some degree that will help to be top-level management?

  • Answer:

Based on what companies are looking for stateside, I'd recommend a couple of things. If you want to be in the upper management the honest truth is that though there's a preference for a Computer Science or Management for Information Systems degree, an MBA works equally well. If you already have a CS or MIS degree for your Bachelors, just do the MBA for the Masters level. If you are looking to rise to a high level in a medium to large company, remember that you're going to need to invest equal and potentially greater time in the business side of the discipline as you would on technology. As with the focus on business, you should also invest time and training to be familiar with and certified for some of the popular process systems. ITIL COBIT You should also study and possibly be certified for the various project management disciplines Agile/Scrum/Kanban PMP (Project Management Professional certification) Hope that this helps.
