Nanoscience is an interdisciplinary field. A masters degree in Nanoscience would open the doors to many research areas. Semiconductors, biosensors, materials, MEMS and microfluidics are some of the areas people work on. Most students go on to join a PhD program after a masters degree in Nanoscience. Industry jobs are also a possibility although there are only a handful of relevant companies in India. One can always start his own company as Nanoscience has many practical applications - from LEDs to water purifiers to better detergents to bio sensors to semiconductor and electronics applications to name a few.
