How could I set up a tech website?

How should I start doing tech support as a small one person business?

  • I put an ad on craigslist saying I would do tech support by donation but that didn't work. Then I put several up saying I would charge $20 an hour but that didn't work either. My mom said I needed to attach a website as if you don't have a website you don't exist. I have a feeling that people going on to craigslist don't need tech support as they know how to use their computers well enough to get that far and their computers work. I have been fairly specific with this list Remove viruses Optimize computers Set up printers Install and set up windows Set up new computers Here is my ad which I have at two other location set to central skytrain locations.     The primary concern is competition. In my area, you can forget about Craigslist (1000+ ads per day just in computer services, welcome to Silicon Valley ;)) Yours is not quite so cut-throat. The content of your marketing is. Spend some time on Robin's site at http://www.technologymarketingtoolkit.com and at http://www.mspu.us (you can access their $200 books for free as a free member) Subtle plug: if you had testimonials from happy customers, you would get more business.
