What is the creative strategy planning?

What are some effective methods for effective integration of  a user experience consulting team with a management consulting team (strategy and planning) so you get the best result for the client?

• I have just joined an already in progress consulting project.  The User Experience team has been working with the client for the past year and a half to launch a new initiative.  The initiative launched, with tremendous holes due to lack of proper strategic and business integration into the original product.  Within the past 4 weeks, a strategy consulting team was hired to assist in making sure the new initiative goes in the right direction.  What are some possible approaches to help these teams come together on strategic recommendations?

  This sounds like some sort of buzzword nightmare.What needs to be done, what resources do you need to do it and who should be directly and unquestionably responsible for each thing?Expect redundancies.
