How to paste a line at a time?

How does one get Quora to respect line breaks in comments?

• Over and over again, I will type a large amount of text as a comment, suitably broken manually into paragraphs by placing line breaks with returns (my style being to use a single line of space provided by two line breaks between the end of one paragraph and the beginning of the next), line breaks which show up perfectly well within the edit field, yet upon submission, all those line breaks are lost. I will delete the unreadable posted comment, paste back in the exact same text I just posted, copied prior to submission straight out of the edit field, and now it will render differently, perhaps with some of the desired line breaks but not others. I'll make some minor change to one of the paragraph separators, and further inexplicable effects will follow. Finally, I'll give up and over-cautiously double- or triple-space all the paragraph separators, which will go through unaltered, and I'll just settle for this ugliness. But, really, what can I do to get it right, the way I wanted, the first time?

  I found that I had to install google chrome, because it's the only browser where Quora actually works. [1] It malfunctions in IE and Opera and one of the problems are linebreaks, as well as bullet points. [1] Actually Quora doesn't work in Chrome either, unless you use a US keyboard. Some clever guy at Quora hardcoded that shift + 2 means typing an @, which will bring up a dialogue box. But this is only true for US keyboards. On mine for instance, shift + 2 is the " character (double quotation mark), which I must copy and paste if I want to use it.
