Can a Mac use a plasma/lcd TV as an external monitor using only wifi?
-
A school I work with would like to mount a plasma or LCD display on the wall (or even a projector), and have the ability for any Mac in the classroom to effectively use it as an external display. I know something like this can be done with screen sharing, but I don't want to have to dedicate a computer to the TV screen. Thank you!

Answer:
Doubtful but possible. Wi-fi does not have enough bandwidth for uncompressed video. One way would be to make every laptop a DLNA server which somehow takes the video output and streams it over Wifi. Assuming the TV has a DLNA client, you can select a "server" and then stream as needed.
