What are the consequences of the new Google privacy principles (HTTPS for Gmail users) on users and marketers?

It's for Gmail user and all users connected to a google account and even for not logged users. It's simply prevent all others analytics tools than Google Analytics to see and register info about how user came from a Google product to their website. 1 It's going to kill all others analytics products by lack of efficiency. 2 BTW it's going to improve Google supremacy on knowledge of website use.  "It's not personal, Sonny. I was discussing this with some SEO friends the other day. Currently I've seen between a 0.1% - 0.3% impact on traffic - and expect this to jump to up to 10% when its realised in http://Google.co.uk. We were discussing whether it would effect the generic keywords or the long tail more. We decided that the biggest impact is going to be in long tail analysis as the generic words have enough volume to keep the same general trend, whereas the long tails don't have that volume. Therefore, there may be larger consequences for the long-tail keywords but until it is fully rolled out its pretty hard to tell.
