When dog food is new with improved tasting, who tests it?

    All of the dog food manufactures maintain kennels for testing their products.  Years ago, I heard that Ralston had to take Labs out of their testing line, because the Labs learned that once they finished either A or B, both bowls would be removed.  So they started eating a little A, a little B, a little A, etc., regardless of which tasted better.
