How can I set up a SOCKS proxy server on Ubuntu?

Please specify all the minimal instructions to set up a basic SOCKS proxy server on Ubuntu, not just pointing to a program.

https://www.torproject.org/ is one of the socks proxy available in ubuntu. You can do `sudo apt-get install tor` or you can use tor https://www.torproject.org/docs/debian with ubuntu which will provide latest release. By default the proxy will be available on port 9050. You can change the configuration from `/etc/tor/torrc`
