How to update the database in MVC?

What is WHOIS Database update?

  • So I checked out a site I came across, "http://rankstats.org". I tested some random websites, and found that one of them - I just can't remember which one, though that is not relevant - said in the "Full WHOIS Lookup"-section, that "Last update of WHOIS Database: 2014.05.06" . That is today. It also said the exact same time that I had entered the domain. It should also be said that the website didn't exist in the "http://rankstats.org" archive before I searched for it. Did I made this website to be updated today? And will my IP-address be connected to this update/domain, if someone should look up the website information (that is, if a "normal" person was to check it, not anyone working in the WHOIS-system)? I understand that in the WHOIS database it is possible to see a domain-name's "history". Hope to hear from you!:)

  • Answer:

Hi! I went to http://rankstats.org/, and checked for a domain that they didn't have in their database. I also saw at the end of whois part :>>>Last update of WHOIS database: 2014-05-07T17:17:02+0000Z: " which is when I checked the domain. I think that they are caching their own whois database, because whois is hard to get. To be 100% sure about my statement, you should visit that domain again, and if the date is still 2014.05.06., then my statement is correct. There is no way that http://rankstats.org/ have direct connecion to the whois database. So the answer to your question(s) is - no.
