Conspiracy Theories: What are some examples of some potentially credible conspiracy theories?
-
By 'credible' I mean 'with tangible evidence'. These don't need to be true - indeed, if they were demonstrably so they would not be conspiracy theories at all. But I want evidence of some kind. (By way of example my understanding of JFK's assassination is that there is some evidence of a second shooter - this neither proves nor disproves any conspiracy, but does - or would, if I'm wrong! - lend weight to the argument that there was / is a conspiracy. I'm interested in answers and stories like that.)

Answer:
1896 - Explosion of the USS Maine - Triggered Spanish-American War Initially blamed on the Spanish, recent evidence has shown it was either an accident or self-demolition 1916- Sinking of of the Lusitannia - Triggered US entry into WWI Already proven that the British navy under direct orders from Winston Churchill did not rescue the survivors and let them drown. 1942 - Attack on Pearl Harbor - Triggered US entry into WWII Again well-proven that the Japanese code was broken by the British and the US and the attack on Pearl Harbor was known well in advance. Roosevelt moved the biggest ships out of the bay and let the rest get bombed. 1971 - Gulf of Tonkin Incident - Triggered Vietnam War Once more, gulf of tonkin incident was triggered by US aggression and not the other way around. No dispute among historians again. Now, these are just conspiracies by the US government. My dates might be slightly off but just think about how many others have occurred since then? I might also add that there are bigger, deeper, more sinister world conspiracies that there is even less information about. That doesn't mean it hasn't occurred. The biggest one I have seen, starts with a G, ends with a EU. I'll let that be a secret for the deciphering minds to discern. But it is thousands of years old.

1999 Russian Apartment Bombings - Of all these insane conspiracy theories on the internet, this is the one that is always overshadowed by 9-11 Truthers and JFK Warren Report debunkers though the evidence is by far more damning. Mind-blowing really. And if I have to honest, I am a generally a cynic, this is probably the only conspiracy theory I believe in. I'm not 100% sure, but damn this is a lot coincidences for one case.Circumstantial (i.e. why it is merely a "conspiracy theory" and not accepted fact) as it is, the evidence is pretty hard to explain away. I'll keep it simple, but you can read a timeline from the CBC which outlines the tragedy for a more coherent, fact-checked overview here: http://www.cbc.ca/fifth/blog/september-1999-russian-apartment-bombings-timeline As basic background information, the bombings were specifically targeting Russian apartment complexes in autumn of 1999. The same type of bomb explosive (RDX) and detonator type was found in all of the sites, which hints at a common bomb builder. The explosions killed and maimed many and spread terror for many weeks and months. All of this precipitates an invasion of Chechnya by Russia shortly after. Blame is naturally assigned to separatists Muslim Chechen terrorists and also Osama bin Laden, though no terrorist group ever actually took credit, which is peculiar because that's the point of terrorism. The patriotic fervor that war unleashed continues to this day, pushed by Vladimir Putin, though that is not really important evidence, more a depressing cherry on top of the whole thing.Four major details stick out which strongly hint at "false flag operation": On Sept. 22 three men were caught unloading sacks of explosives into an apartment building. The bomb is defused and sacks are detected as explosives by a trained technician from the local police bomb squad using presumably reliable detectors. Yet the explosive is only obtainable from military sources (it's possible some grunt sold it in the post-Soviet collapse or just on the black market, but the provenance is quite fishy.) A telephone operator reported that they overheard men discussing getaway plans after some kind of botched operation shortly before. The lines were linked to the FSB (the intelligence service formerly known as the KGB). Why the operator was listening in or how, I don't know. Both of the above-mentioned suspects are positively identified as members of the FSB. But released. Apparently the higher ups in the government issued them some kind of orders which allowed them to get away. FSB tests reveal the explosives to be sugar. I kid you not. This is in direct contradiction to the police analysis matching it to the same explosive used in the previous attacks. The FSB head then announces the sacks were just part of a "test." A series of questionable trials and several dead journalists (Anna Politkovskaya), investigators (like Mikhail Trepashkin who was falsely imprisoned according to Amnesty International), politicians (Yuri Shchekochikhin), and FSB defectors (including Alexander Litvinenko whose death by radioactive polonium has been traced back to the Russian govt.) all surrounding the terrorist attacks and subsequent investigations is suspicious to put it mildly. The records are sealed for 75 years by the Russian officials, rendering absolutely no way of knowing in our lifetimes what happened or even seriously investigating any leads privately. And, yes, I know, conspiracies are usually debunkable by the number of people required to keep the secret, but bribes aside, in this case they have no reason to come forward considering they stand to be murdered or locked up when they do. (Which they arguably have, barring any other reasonable explanations.) That's not even including other suspicious details like the Crimean land grab, Putin's ties to the intelligence community (who came to office a few short years later), and the general climate of corruption and elimination of dissent throughout he country.Typically when you dig into a conspiracy theory it sounds great until you find that there isn't much there to go on, or worse, it completely falls apart. In this case it seems to only build and support itself.

I think what makes most conspiracy so compelling is that there IS tangible proof. Sometimes the proof is misinterpreted by the conspiracy theorists, but sometimes the people misinterpreting the evidence are the ANTI-conspiracy theorists. For example, the conspiracy theory of the federal reserve being created by big unpopular banksters⦠there's a plaque in one of the rooms of the hotel on Jeckyl Island that says that it is the room where the Federal Reserve Bank was created. It's a matter of public record that these bankers created the Federal Reserve bill then they publicly argued against it. They knew the public was against them so they knew the public would support anything the bankers seemed to hate. And we still think the private for profit Fed, doing the work the government should do without interest, is a good idea.

The Sandy Hook, CT massacre was a government psyop against the American people. The shooting started at 9:35am, December 14, 2012, at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. Thirty four minutes later, Shannon Hicks photographed an FBI agent escorting 15 children from the school. See the photo here: http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2012/12/14/nyregion/20121215_SHOOTING_GOBIG.html?ref=nyregion#2 Just 29 minutes before, the last of over 150 bullets exploded from Adam Lanza's Glock pistol. Twenty children and four adults lay shot to pieces a few hundred yards away. With no confidence that the scene was safe, police refused access to ambulances. Neither EMT's nor relatives were allowed access onto school property for fear they would be shot. In this photo, the children's eyes are closed. Presumably this would protect them from the trauma of visually imprinting the massacre. While that makes sense, I can't figure why their eyes are still closed once the children are several hundred yards away from the murder scene. I also can't figure why there are two parental figures standing at the back of the evacuation line. They are standing right in the line of fire, calmly watching the children fumble, walk and cry. For reference, I will call the woman on the left Gray (gray sweater) and the woman on the right Blue (blue shirt). Gray has a relaxed stance. She is not ducking or looking for one particular child who might be hers. Her right leg is cocked sideways as if to protect her back from a long bout of standing. Gray is carrying some papers. These are an odd ballast to carry when stepping into the forbidden zone of an active shooter situation. She seems to be gazing at the law enforcement officer across from her. She is simply standing, holding, and watching. Blue is watching the front of the line. She also appears to be calmly gazing at the view. She is not ducking or looking for a specific child. Both Gray and Blue's faces register zero on the Fear scale. If it is odd that two parents to calmly observed the evacuation from within an active shooter zone, then it is even more so when another group of calm adults stood quietly over another group of closed-eyed fumbling kids evacuating the mass-murder directly behind them. See this photo here in the NY Daily News here: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/mass-shootings-central-american-history-article-1.1457514 A direct link to that image: http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.1457513.1379353804!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_970/connecticut-school-shooting.jpg?enlarged And here is a better resolution with less cropping: http://i47.tinypic.com/23kue06.jpg In Photo #2 there are at least seven civilians watching the evacuation. Again, they are calmly standing. They're not ducking. They're not showing fear. They are watching as another agent escorts a different group of children from the scene. The man in the USA jacket is a fourth grader's older brother. The woman in the blue sweat jacket is Lisa Terifay, mother of Kelly and Henry, seen in another Hicks photo, here: http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2012/12/14/nyregion/20121215_SHOOTING_GOBIG-slide-K90I/20121215_SHOOTING_GOBIG-slide-K90I-jumbo-v2.jpg In two evacuation photos -- one of which won its photographer the Pulitzer Prize -- we see adults watching the evacuation as if it were a drill. As of this writing, Hicks stands by her original story that her photo was taken at 10:09 am, December 14, 2012. There, just a few hundred feet from the bloodiest massacre in school-shooting history, these parents tread where police explicitly instructed EMT's not to go. These parents didn't run, duck, shout, cry or show any signs of fear. At least nine civilian adults looked on even as police were running into the woods after a camouflaged suspect. I could show you many more anomalies. Such as the high probability that Joey Gay was fabricated from young pictures of Kelly Terifay. That the Kowalski victim was photographed about to go swimming two years after he was murdered. The all vehicular and helicopter ambulances were explicitly refused. That police ate, drank and laughed in full dash cam view just two hours after the shooting started. I could show you Adam Lanza's hat with only a pea stain of blood on it -- no brains, no bone, and only a tiny spot of blood. It is impossible for a Glock 10 mm to have left so little of Lanza's head on the hat. If Shannon Hicks shot these photos at 10:09 am on December 14, 2012, then the area could not have been an active shooter zone. There was no reason to keep the ambulances from driving up to the school. There was no reason to use a police vehicle instead of an ambulance to take the victims to the hospital. At least nine civilians standing calmly in an active shooter area tells us that there was no reason to be afraid. Whatever happened on December 14, 2012, there could not have been a massacre inside the school. If shooting started at 9:35am, the police would have prevented any onlookers from coalescing in the school parking lot; any parent on the scene would be actively looking for their child; we would see the fight or flight response in their demeanor. This is credible evidence that another agenda was afoot, one that had nothing to do with an emaciated boy whom no one had seen or heard from in the three years prior to the event.
