What were some programs from the New Deal?

Would FDR's New Deal programs work as effectively today to boost our economy and help create jobs as they did during FDR's tenure as president?

Given that inflation is low, would New Deal programs help address US unemployment and consumer spending issues? Would they potentially work in Europe, where inflation is higher but unemployment also much worse?

  No, Obama has no understanding of basic economic principals.  In the Great Depression, you had people fighting for every last dollar they could get their hands on.  This was a nation ready to make efficient use of a stimulus, even a small one. By cutting out the bottom of the recessionary curve using a stimulus, you are left with a bunch of lazy fat people who are inefficient and are treated as arrogant if they try to come up with new business ideas.  All giving them money does is make them lazier, fatter and more ignorant and make the next fall that much harder.
