How do seo and ppc work together?

What are the most popular and highly recommended Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay-Per Click (PPC) books available to purchase at a local book store?

  • My objective is to become an SEO Specialist and/or work as an Internet Marketer. I am hoping to read and study SEO/PPC books and blogs, as well as take and achieve the Google AdWords Certificate. I would like to be sufficiently knowledgeable about this technology in order to make a career of it. Would also really like to start my own private freelance/consulting too. I am open and hoping for any advice or guidance you may have. I wish I could learn hands on from someone, but this will have to do for now. Thank you.

The best thing in the world is available for free, so for SEO knowledge, look no further - here's the go-to resources: Beginner's Guide: http://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo Beginner's Guide 2: http://searchengineland.com/guide/what-is-seo Advanced Guide: http://www.quicksprout.com/the-advanced-guide-to-seo/ News: http://searchenginewatch.com/seo This is not free, but Aaron Wall's http://www.seobook.com/ is quite authoritative. I hope this helps.

1. (If you don't have)Start a website first and that'll become your origin of learning point. 2. Bunch of useful websites are already listed by and and I'd just like to add  https://blog.kissmetrics.com/ to it. 3. Learn basics of HTML and CSS which you'll need to optimize the website. 4. "Content is King" now, so start writing blog posts and articles, and guest blogs are also much appreciated, so that could you be better in it which is going to rule the future of digital marketing. 5. Get yourself familiar with Analytical tools, esp. Google Analytics - https://analyticsacademy.withgoogle.com/explorer. All the best!

There's a fairly comprehensive list below but I'd focus on freebies... https://www.mattcutts.com/blog/ is good for Google tips/hints. Do you have a website to work on yourself? If not, get one and try to learn the ropes practically by reading up on best-practices. Alternatively doing a stint working for a SEO firm - even on a volunteering basis - could secure you a wealth of info it might take years to learn from books.

It's unlikely that your local bookstore will have these books. Instead I would not focus on these details. I recommend you study marketing. Because the concepts of marketing apply to these areas, and will give you much better results than studying the details of how to apply them. Seo And PPC  in 2014 is really all about marketing.
