Which Is The Best Business Strategy Games?

How do I get over my addiction of playing games?

  • I'm addicted to playing computer games. Everyday I feel frustrated beyond limits when I realize that I have wasted hours after hours playing Clash of Clans, Kingdom Rush, Last Stand Dead Zone and countless strategy based flash games from http://armorgames.com. Everyday I resolve that the next day I'll limit myself; but that never happens. I do not keep my word. No, I'm not a student who's getting screwed up in academics because of this. I'm a part time professor, who delivers great lectures to his students in computer science. My students love me, and they score well too. Somehow, this is the only area of my life which remains affected due to gaming. Though I must confess, I can be a lot better here too. I am also trying to set up a start up with my college chums. Here my performance is abysmal. My role is to act as a bridge between the devs and the clients and translate the business domain across. During discussions, I discuss the product ideas, flows, data-points efficiently but when it comes to documenting them, I feel lost and quickly start playing one game or the other. Result? Daily targets are missed. The pressure is building up these days and we are running out of funds. I have a family, with whom I spend quality time. But lately, I have found myself stealing moments to take out my phone and conduct a quick raid. Sometimes, when my wife and kids are asleep I wake up and play for an hour or so; screwing up the next morning. Instead of my start-up product, the things that constantly buzz my mind are strategies for the future in my game. I sometimes dream about them too. Did I mention I am an average quorian too? I have a lot to write and discuss here, but again these games keep me tied up.

Oh my goodness, that does sound not very healthy. I'm afraid I'm the exact opposite. Due to retirement, I have loads of leisure time, and can't do much else due to medical conditions, so I've build a fairly-beefy gaming PC with a massive sound system attached. heh. I truly hope you can break this habit. I think you might have better luck if you can replace the gaming with something you'd enjoy, that isn't time-consuming. I guess that while I have gone to some extremes in the expense and time to build a gaming rig, but I can go without playing, or, when the grandchildren visit, I have no problems with turning it off for days. Great good luck to you, sir.

Turn your notifications off, a lot of the time, people only pick up their phone because they hear the chime of an alert or see the screen turn on briefly, our inquisitive nature makes it absolutely essential to see what it was and while I'm here.... So, turn alerts off, and leave your phone out of reach when you need to do something. That's a good start, now you need a detox. Don't look at any of your games for an entire weekend, when you turn them back on in a few days, some of them will have lost their sheen, it's not so much the game that's addictive but the constant input, it's a habit and once you break the cycle it's attraction is lost and it no longer has a hold on you. Now it may seem like a chore to check on all your games. Social games have an extra layer of addiction, a social obligation, depending how active you are in the clan/guild, again the distance will break it's hold but you have to realise that there really isn't an obligation, and if you're not playing all the time, your team won't fall apart. When you log back in you'll be greeted with a lot of whining and if your clan is especially petty, they may have booted you, for me, the whinging just highlighted how childish people are, and further cemented my recovery. Now that you've been in the cycle of farming and building, you should find it difficult to get back in, you recognise the former triggers, but see them now as too much effort, you'll probably try a few new games here and there but you'll never get the same level of involvement again, you may be discouraged from many games before you even finish the training sequence. If this doesn't work, invest in a no frills mobile phone, avoid smartphones. What do you really need your phone for? It's just to make and receive calls right? So, get one that only does that.

I know you're pain been there done that. Delete it all just stop it. Make a list why you should stop what are the consequenses, accept the fact that a human being is not supposed to look at a screen all day. Find a productive alternative. And last but not least WILLPOWER.

Go cold turkey. I got "addicted" (not a full addiction, but more like seriously hooked) on League of Legends twice. Just quit and after a week or two you will no longer have a strong desire to play the game. During that week you will really want to play it, but the addiction wears off in time. Now that I know that it works, I might play LoL again for the fun of it and to see if I can get un-addicted a third time. (This game is one that several people I know of, and one I know personally, have gotten seriously addicted to. The game-world and gameplay are quite engrossing and there are plenty of incentives to keep playing.) I don't know about smartphone games, but I did play Shadowgun Deadzone for a while. That one was not quite as addicting as LoL cause the game basically stays the same after you hit lvl. 20.

First of all Change the smart phone to a normal one . Second block that website in your computer so it reminds you , that you don't need to play games . Change your wallpaper to some motivational thoughts. Try this and let me know the results :)
