Where to find jobs with companies hiring?

Which US-based companies are hiring Software Engineers from EU?

  • Recently I watched some interviews with Facebook's execs and they highlighting the issue of being unable to find talented highly skilled engineers within the US so they are looking to attract talented people from EU and other places in the world to relocate to US and work for them. I was wondering how common is that for other high tech companies. I can't see others so openly advertising jobs for foreigners (non-US), but on the other hand in the ads there are no requirements for full-time work permit in US in many cases. In addition, how common is hiring and relocation engineers for smaller start-ups? Do they bother with the visa sponsorships and relocation at all?

  • Answer:

I'm pretty sure New Relic is hiring internationally. http://newrelic.com/jobs I think it really depends on the startup. Most startups don't want to deal with all the paperwork and hassle of hiring from abroad.

I managed to find some interesting publicly available data online. Foreign Labor Certification Data Center annually publishes detailed information on each H1-B case annually: http://www.flcdatacenter.com/CaseH1B.aspx. For convenience I loaded it up to Google Fusiontable so it can be quite easily sorted, filtered and visualised.
