Why does my CD player turn off when I turn it up too high?

When you turn CD player on it works but when you turn volume high the speakers quit working?

  • Answer:

I'm not totally sure but I think this is because the amplifier has a built in wattage it goes to. If it sends out too much electricity over small wires and small connections then it heats up and something breaks or burns. To prevent this the amp usually has an automatic shut-off when it senses that it's being requested to move too much electricity to the speakers. If you either reduce the number of speakers you have attached to the amp, decrease the volume, buy a new higher wattage amp, or route the sound through two amps you shouldn't have this problem anymore. But like I said I'm not sure, you could just have a badly made stereo system or a loose wire in the electronics.
