Christians: When you say you are saved, what are you saved from exactly?

For Christians: What happens to a person who has never heard the gospel or has been saved, what does the bible have to say? *im Christian

  • What if a hindu born and raised in India only knew Hinduism and lived his/her entire life a hindu..would they be saved. I just want to know what the bible has to say because people have differing views but I believe the bible will give a clear answer? Thanks in advance:)

    Jesus emphatically stated: “In all the nations the good news has to be preached first.” (Mark 13:10) We must remember that Jehovah knows the heart condition of all people. No matter what a person’s situation is, if he sincerely searches for the truth about God, he will find it.—1 Chronicles 28:9. He is the one to determine to what extent the witness is to be given to all the nations. If Jehovah chooses, he can see that the Kingdom message is spread in ways that we cannot yet imagine so that many more people may “hear the word of the good news and believe.” (Acts 15:7) What Jehovah does will be in full harmony with who he is—a loving, wise, and just God.

The bible is clear that anyone who hasn't reached "the age of understanding." This refers to baby's, people without the mental capacity to understand, and yes, even those how truly have not heard the Word.

You cannot be blamed for not following a religion you know nothing of. Not to say that anyone who know of Christianity and doesn't follow it is sinful; that would include me. But you can't follow something you don't know about. Or as a very wise minister once said to me, "If you haven't stood in the light, you don't cast a shadow."

In addition to Betty's and others statement that God will judge fairly we should know that people in all cultures have the same problem and awareness of sin which separates us , further it says in Romans "no one seeks after God"...if anyone truly seeks from the heart to desire salvation I believe that God will provide an open door. God is working powerfully today in places like China, Korea, Africa , while his hand of grace is lifting from our own land which was a beacon of the gospel
