Is general concentration the same as liberal arts?

What's the difference between an Associate of Arts concentration in Information Technology degree versus just an Associate of Arts?

  • Answer:

An Associate of Arts is a degree title coving several different types of degrees in liberal arts, humanities and social sciences. Just like a Bachelor of Arts (BA). There are also Associate of Science degrees that are the same. Information Tech is one of many types of AA degrees. You get an AA in Information Tech or an AA in Anthropological Studies or an AA in Music Appreciation, etc. Despite cidchase rather ignorant comment you can actually get some great jobs and make very good money with some AA degrees. However many people with AAs go on to get a Bachelors degree.

I like the IT part, that will prolly give you some marketable skills. The AA will help you solve crossword puzzles. Okay, maybe that's not so kind, but it's close to true.
