What are the employment requirements of a locksmith in regards to background checks, criminal history?

Do most companies that perform background checks look at employment history or just criminal?

  • My criminal history is clean and my resume is correct but I quit my current job a month ago but said I was still working. It was a stupid thing to do and not like me at all. I received an offer for a job and they have to do a background check. Will that fact cause them to renege the offer? I had a friend who lied about jobs she had and salary and still passed a background check since they were only searching for felonies. They are all for Customer Service/Sales Support type jobs.

  • Answer:

Most look at both..and some add a request for a credit report...depending on the job you are applying for.. As for not telling the truth about being employed...just say "typo" if possible..

Usually criminal but they can check the other.

They are looking at criminal felonies. So many people have to change jobs now to move up to another I wouldn't worry about that. Employers would only see a red flag if you were skipping around constantly. They are always needing to hire in customer service type jobs, no worries...
