What car is the best to go on a cross country road trip with 3-4 people?

In little over a year, my friends and I are planning to go on a cross country road trip to celebrate our graduation. We are trying to figure out what car would be the best to fit all of us and have extra room for us to possibly spend a night or two in. The trip starts in Maryland, USA and goes south to Florida, then west to California (up the 1, along the coast), east to Detroit, then up to Canada. Mostly the trip is to explore the states and national parks. The time period we are planning to have is two months to explore during the summer. Any suggestions on a car would be wonderful, thank you!

Get a full sized van. I've had lots(carpet installer) I like the Chevys best...a window van has the insulation inside so it's quieter, just take out a couple of rows of seats...
