I don't like people calling me crazy?Hello everybody, I have a question that is bothering me a little bit. Well, I will be the first person to admit that I am a little weird( I am not crazy), but I always come across people that have to comment to one another that (he is weird). I just got a small part in a play recently and during rehearsal I overheard someone saying that guys is so weird to another cast member. Saying is softly, but I still heard it.It bums me out when people make these comments and I have grown a thicker skin when it comes to stuff like this, but it makes me feel like I am doing something wrong when I am just being myself, so I feel like I have to hold back on being myself a lot. I thought theater people were suppose to be weird but I have theater people making comments like this. Is there anything that I should be doing different or should I hold back even in these casual situations and only relax with my actual friends.

Weird is a compliment of sorts. It means you're interesting. Know what's insulting? Being called average or normal. It essentially means they think you're boring.

People often do not understand or accept a fish swimming with them if it is a different type, talent, potential. Take being called weird as a compliment! You are a cut above. More talent prone. And they simply cannot understand that. Some of the neatest, coolest people I knew were considered weird by others. One has been my friend since 5th grade and I am 58 now.

I love being called weird whether it's meant as a compliment or not. Weird is another word for different, different means special, and special is ME!!!!!! Who cares what they think? You have friends and family that love you for you. Nothing else should matter. Not everybody in the world is going to like you, but it's their loss, not yours.

Be yourself and screw what people think, they don't matter, just be true to yourself.
Don't scale back for anybody! You do what works for YOU! And however they call you weird ( to your face, or whatever) just say, "Whatever" and keep living. And when they do that, think to yourself, "You can't argue with ignorance. It's no fun." Works for me.

When you're older, your peers might be calling you "the Professor." It may or may not be intended as a compliment, but I would take it as one.
