How do I make my paper look aged?

How do you make new paper look aged?

  • I have a history project, and I have to make a journal with journal entries and everything. This journal is supposed to look like it was written in the Civil war, so it really needs to look like it?s been beaten and roughed up. I have discolored the pages with a coffee and tea mixture, and have tacked sandpaper to the fake leather cover giving it some texture and a tattered look to it. I plan on ripping some pages and burning the edges, but besides that how can I get this thing to look really old? Any good ideas out there?

    I usually put it laying in tea overnight. You can also burn the edges a little and put it in the oven at a low temp

Crumple it up and soak it in some tea.

Keep crumpling it up into a ball, pull on it, roll it, jump on it, even put some dirt on it. It'll make it look really vintage! :)

Burn the edges then blow out the flame, When you are finished there will be holes and brown edges making it look older
