What is the best medium sized pick up truck?

I'm looking for a good quality 4 door truck. Nothing huge, but something that can pull a small horse trailer and can transport my dogs and family. What do you recommend?

Right now the tacoma. But soon the new chevy Colorado is coming out and that will probably smash the tacoma.

A "small" horse trailer? You do NOT want a medium size truck. Seriously! You want a 3/4 ton truck, at least. Yeah, a smaller truck can PULL that weight ... but a smaller truck also will not have sufficient breaking capacity to control a horse trailer at highway speed or traveling down a significant grade.
