Art college or regular college?

If I were to go to a college of art and design,would i still have to take regular subjects?

I plan to go to a college where i can major in interior/set design,and i was just wondering if you would have to take regular subjects,such as math,english,etc,or just take what i want to major in?

Most want general subjects completed (Algebra, Art Hist, English, Psych or Sociology).
