Should I major in law even though I love music?

  • While I love music and I mean love, love. Love like its my favorite thing ever in the world, however, I feel there are not many good jobs I could get out there in the real world with a degree in music. Should I major in law and become a lawyer instead? I know law may not be the real term as I'm honestly unsure of the real name of the major. It wouldn't be something I hate, I would enjoy it. I do NOT want to be a music teacher!! I'm sorry, I'd probably go to jail for slapping someone else's unruly child or teenager.. Its early to be thinking about this but I need to know what scholarships to apply for and aim for! (I'm a sophomore in high school)

    I don't think there is actually a law major. You get a four year degree and apply to law school during the end of your college career. Also, don't become lawyer just because its a job. Find something that you are passionate about but also has a salary you can live on. Go tour your local universities and ask questions about their programs (even the music department-to get more info on the field and how you can stay involved). Find a couple of programs your interested and job shadow those in that field to see if it is something you can do for the rest of your life.

My schooling days are long gone. I would say law for the most import one and music the other one. Two birds with one stone.

No. Do what you love. Focus on becoming good at whatever instrument u play. Also, check out burklee college of music website to see what jobs one can get in the music industry/ what they pay/ what degree or certificate or any other qualification they require.
