Can an expired registration ticket be dismissed?

Can a cop mail a ticket to me for expired registration or inspection stickers? also i was speedng but he didnt give a ticket, am i clear?

  • He said he would mail a ticket for one of them, he wasnt specific on whether it would be registration or inspection. Also, he had pulled me over for speeding but he didnt hand me a ticket or mention giving me a ticket, but he did ask for my dad's cell number and mine. And he said hed call about it.... But he hasnt called yet. And i am wondering if they will actually sed one in the mail.... Is it a fixable ticket if they do send it? We didnt know it was expired. And we fixed it the same day....i am only 17 so i am kinda freaking out

Never heard of something like this. Generally your car would be towed and your dad would be called to pick you up at the police station. Expired inspection, no insurance, speeding, 17? Is this a very small town? Is your dad well known? Why would he allow you to drive with expired tags? No idea here, check your mail.

Was he a cop in the first place, was it an official police cruiser he was in or just some guy who showed you a badge? It is odd to happen that way? Everything should have happened right there and then. In fact he should have had the car towed or parked till you had secured up to date paper work. Something is not right there.
