How do you get into motor sport racing?

What kind of motor racing would be cheaper to get into?

• I ride dirtbikes and I think it would be cool to get ino indy cars or something. I know any racing would be expensive bur what would be some cheaper racing to try? I would absolutely LOVE to have some type of racing team. Maybe stand-up jet skis or something? like stunt shows and stuff? what would that entail? I would just like any info on any type of racing and how to get into the major leagues and/or anything on having my own team. I am only 17 so I still have a lot of time for things. I am also trying to decide on a college or tech school or trade school or extreme sports school after high school. I think an extreme sports school would be awesome!, but is it really practical?any and all advice or input is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  We used to build cars for dirt track stock car racing, get a used car beef it up and race it at the local track in the beginners class, That's where most of the NASCAR drivers came from. Your racing team would be all your buddy's that like to work on cars. If your really good at it, it will grow and you will get sponsors and it will grow. Indy is way too expensive for an average person plus it takes years of driving race car experience. That's why you start in dirt track and work your way up, if your good enough they will throw their money at you and build that Indy car for you and give you a team. You can't teach how to be a race car driver, you have it or you don't, but you can teach a race car driver how to be better, that's where the school comes in. Same for drag racing. Start at the local tack. Are you looking for $$ or good times? There's no future in doing stunts on jet skis but it is a lot of fun.
