How do I stop a scratchy violin?

How to make this guy stop playing violin at the church's youth worship band?

  • This is my second year in the youth worship band. At the beginning of last year, I played violin. But, they wouldn't give me anything to play besides the cords the guitars and basses play, which, on a violin, was just whole notes. I stopped playing violin there, and switched to singing. This year, a violinist joined, a lot older than me. They gave him songs to play. Everyone requests him for songs to play in our free time halfway through practice, and asks him a whole lot of questions regarding the violin. I'm extremely jealous, I'm supposed to be the violin player there. I don't want to talk to him, but I want him to stop playing. Should I convince the person in charge to give him what he gave me, then boring him out of it? Should I set something up so where his fingers become unusable? I hate him being here.

Welcome to the real world! You can't make them to have him stop! Church is a place of friendship and brotherly love, not look at me, see what I can do place. Time to mature up and serve, not complain and whine!

Your question reeks of a selfish attitude. Your worship band is there to bring honor and glory to God. You cannot bring God any glory if your focused on yourself. Accept the outcome of your leaders decision, and play your part to the best of your ability. That is how you bring glory to God, my friend.

honey church is a wonderful place to hone ones skills. perhaps however it is being pointed out to you that your skill is not adequate. that would be difficult to admit BUT wanting the other guy out is not your solution or business, leave him alone. grow up a bit.
