In the movie 300, there is a famous scene where an ambassador from Persia visits Sparta to discuss assimilation. The ambassador insults the queen, threatens the Spartans, and is not finding it easy to talk to the king about the subject. The king draws a sword and points it to the ambassador's throat. The ambassador is standing in front a large well. The famous dialogue is recorded here: Ambassador: "This is madness!" King Leonidas: (Looks to the queen; she nods; he looks to the ambassador) "Madness?" (Drops his sword) "This is Sparta!" King Leonidas then raises his foot and plants it firmly into the ambassador's chest, pushing him backwards into the well. The ambassador's company goes with him as the Spartan warriors attack them.
