What water conditioner is better for my fish?

Can a fish die of Tap water conditioner? PLEASE HELP!

  • During a frantic frenzy of trying to help my fish ( see other posted questions from me if you need details of the incident) i did a 20% water change, added about 5-7 drops of strength tap water conditioner and 2 drops of stress relief coat and now i have a new worry on my hands. Did i add too much?!?! Will my fish and can he die from over use of tap water conditioner? I have a goldfish in a 10 gallon tank

  • Answer:

Read the bottle specifications. If the bottle says yes, I'm sorry for your loss. If the bottle says no, congrats to the fish! Also, goldfish have a smaller tolerance for pain and chemicals, so he may die. Sorry!

Fish aren't as delicate as you think, as they are perfectly fine in straight up tap water. If this was a one time thing, do not worry about your precious fish. They should be fine.

Well I had a cheap fish in Tao water and it lives for almost a year so I guess you can try it if you want to.
