What is the the best forage fish?

Can I fish, cook and eat fish from a contaminated creek? And if so, what s the best way that I should cook it to make it more safe to eat?

• By contaminated, I mean its not good for drinking. But yes I ve gotten into it a few times, and nothing has happened. Plus, I ve noticed 6 different kinds of fish living in the creek (catfish, sucker fish, ordinary fish about 1 ft long, some golden fish that are about 10 inches long, small fish about 1 inch long, if you put your legs, or your arm in and stay still, they ll come and nibble you, it tickles, and other fish about 3 inches long dark with white stripes), plus some shell fish and once or twice, I saw a turtle. On the other hand, sometimes I find dead iguanas. But there s lots more living iguanas around. And maybe it could be a plant they eat by mistake.

  There is no real way to make the fish " more safe to eat " They are either ok to eat Or not ok . Some rivers suggest you only consume a few ounces of fish Caught in that area- Others say it's ok to eat. I would check with your local Department of natural resources to be sure.
