It is prudent to remember that slavery was once the natural order of things and to deny that is to deny history. Anything that is "banned" takes on an exotic and mystical quality and comes to represent symbolically, for some people, lost freedoms and suppression. So becomes more attractive. When people become so sensitive and so hurt by so many things they are no longer able to have perspective and respect others and allow others to be free then all you have left is adversity which leads only to war and murder. And competition instead of cooperation.
