Where are the legitimate online jobs posted?

School Administrators: What is the best way to apply for jobs before they're posted?I am tenured now,but there's no chance for advancement.

  • I am a current tenured teacher who wants to move systems, do I need to send out resumes NOW (January) before jobs are posted at the end of the school year? Should I wait until April or just wait until they are posted? The past two years I have not had any luck with even getting an interview for positions smaller than my current band program. It's almost like all jobs have been filled before posting the past few years. I am ready to get into a system that wants a hard working teacher and not just someone to babysit students. I know school law inside and out. I have my Bachelors in Music Education, and my Masters and Ed.S in school administration. Thank you for any help you can provide me.

    My experience in business is that resumes received when there are no job openings may get read and filed. I don't think you can get a hiring advantage by sending your resume in advance - but you might.

I would wait a couple moths to send out your resume. Unless you have an insider tip on someone leaving either through attrition or just because. Put out feelers, see if you can find out what's going on in your district. Or, you may have consider tenure vs leaving the school syste. you're in. Try the website educationamerica.net. Unless you are applying at a school where the teachers don't have a union ... they can't even take your resume/application unless there is a position posted. Union rules.
