Is it possible to fill out two apartments application?

I already fiied out application for one apartment but manager never reply anything about the application. I need to move out next 7 days because my current apartment contract is done in next weekend. I tried to find out if my application accepted or not (It's been 3 days that I fill out application) and If so when can I move in to that apartment. I called him 10 times, left voice message several times, and also text him two times. He never reply me back anything. So just in case I search other apartment as well. And the other apartment manager want me to fill out application by tomorrow. Is it okay if I make two apartment's application? I just want to make sure that because within 7 days I need find a place to move in. And also I already put $400 deposit to first apartment (manager never answerd his phone). If I fill out application to other apartment, Can I get back that deposit?

Of course. If you ask me, it wouldn't be very smart to depend on one application if you have that little time to move. There's no harm done if more than one accepts you, you could choose the one you like most and just reject the other offers.
