How is an indicator different from a dye?

How do I dye my hair bright red without using bleach or expensive materials

  • PLEASE READ THISI'm only 13 and the only dye I have ever put in my hair was koolaid . I want to dye my hair a bright rianah red . I'm finally allowed to use a chemical dye but I am not aloud to use bleach as my parents don't want to ruin my hair . I'm seriously not scared to experiment or get a ugly result cause I mean it's only hair it will come out and go away and everything . My hair is a tiny bit passed shoulder length and pretty thick . How should I dye it? What are some good brands? How can I maintain it well-ly? (don't worry I've put lots of thought into this and have been doing my 'homework' for like 3 months

  • Answer:

Any kind of hair dye can ruin your hair, unless you be careful with it(Such as using conditioner daily) Also, chemical hair dye IS permanent, it takes MONTHS even YEARS to come out naturally. As to *how* you can dye it without bleach, the only thing I can think is to dye your hair white, wait a week, redye it white(Because it won't come out very white the first time) and then go red.

don't dye it!!! :) go get highlights, and see if you like them. Then ask the hairstylist all the questions you have. It depends on what color your hair is right now as well.

Koolaid. My 13 year old does it.

I don't know what rianah is but with red hair ask ariana grande, or maybe Dan Schneider ;)

it depends on how dark your color is right now... if you can't lighten in and your existing color is darker than the red that you want it won't work... color cannot lift color... it only deposits. I would suggest you go to a professional to discuss your options. If you're worried about killing your hair DO NOT USE BOX DYE. The instructions do not count in all of the possibilities, and I've seen people use boxes to try to save money end up having to spend 5x as much as they would have trying to fix it.

Look for a dye that has the name of "medium intense auburn" (from garnier, i think) or something along the lines of that at Walmart, it will bring you the closest to what you want without bleaching it. I have dark brown hair and it is an intense red. For thick hair that is about your length you'd probably need two boxes. All you need to do is touch up roots and fades parts every once in awhile, I do it almost every other month, usually less.
