How long should I take to get a drive license?

Do I have to go take another drive test to get my actual drivers license? (Read details below please)

  • I still have my drivers permit & I'm scheduled to take it by the end of this year (hopefully). After I obtain my Intermediate license, I know there are certain restrictions still. When I turn 18 in 5 months after receiving the Intermediate license, do I need to schedule another appointment for a drive test in order to be issued a regular driver license? I apologize if my question was kinda confusing.

  • Answer:

Ask your local DMV. In New York State, you only take one road test. When you reach the age for an unrestricted license, they simply mail it to you.
