If the cut skin was blistered, then the watery fluid is just what was inside the blister. If it wasn't blistered, then the watery fluid is probably just the clear component of blood called serum. It's clear and a very pale yellow color and will dry to a slightly sticky crust. (Pus isn't clear or watery; it's anywhere from creamy white to pale green depending on how much dead bacteria is in it and is somewhat thicker.) If it was blistered and the skin is still intact, even if broken where the fluid leaked out, leave the skin alone instead of peeling it away. Gently wash with warm water and mild soap; pat dry; apply a loose and dry bandage just to protect the skin from further damage. Watch for signs of infection (redness, swelling or puffiness, tenderness, seepage of pus).
