Working as a store associate?

I really want to work at this Big Lots store because of prior experience working at one at a different location. How should I proceed?

• I went into the store, found the hiring manager, told her I was very interested in working the stock position for which they were hiring, and mentioned how I had prior experience working that at a different location.She nodded, and told me she'd be calling for interviews sometime on Tuesday. Keep in mind, this was Saturday when I spoke to her and turned in my app.I even know one of the managers there as the manager helped work in the Big Lots store I worked at as part of a remodel job. He was impressed by me and said he could recommend me should I apply. (this was back in July). I had a serious leg infection and couldn't apply then. I know the guys name but not sure how to reach him to help further my chances of getting the job.How should I proceed? Do I just wait for a call for interview? Not sure how long that process could take or if I should follow up? And I wanted to find a way to get the manager that knows me to recommend me but i have no way of reaching him.I just really wanna work at this store out of familiarity and comfort level.

  She said Tuesday. If you do not hear by then, a follow up phone call would be perfect. Let them know you are still interested and just following up to see when you can come in to get an interview! The fact you worked at this store in a different location, should help you. As long as you were not fired from the other store or got any bad employee reports. If you do call, wait for a return call for about a week. Then try one more follow up call.
