How do you start a youth group in AZ?

Could some of my friends and I start a youth group?

  • My friend with the idea is Wesleyan, I'm Catholic, and another friend who might be involved hasn't been baptized or confirmed or anything, but she'd be Catholic. We talked about making a hodge-podge youth group kinda jokingly, but thinking back on it now, I really like the idea. the problem is, would it be feasible or are our denominations to different?

    Of course you can! You merely need a place to meet and an advisor. Parents would be more apt to let their children participate if they know it is not going to be a free-for-all! A nice concept is, Agape. It is a Christian word for spiritual love and feasting! So basically eat, dance, learn, do charity work and be MERRY!

I think that's a great idea! By putting together a group of people that have different ideas, beliefs and backgrounds, you will all broaden your horizons. Especially if you listen to one another! Much more fun that a group where everyone thinks exactly alike!

'Could' and 'should' are not the same. Ability and being gifted to do something are not the same. You need sound counsel from a mentor who knows and cares for you... And I would hope you pray about it first and foremost.

You probably would have to present the group as Non-Denominalional since there are more than one belief. It could be a good place to play music and eat good food with a safe place to hang out.

Girl Scouts or Girl Guides are examples of groups that can be non denominational.
