What do pharmacists do?

What kind of personality traits/qualities do pharmacists possess?

  • My chemistry teacher used to be one, and he called me after class to see if I wanted to work in the pharmacy department at the hospital in my area (where my parents work!) with his wife, who is a pharmacist there. He really wants me to think about a career in pharmacology instead of surgery, like my parents. He said I "have the mind for it". What does that mean? What traits do pharmacists have?

You need to have a very good memory and excellent attention to detail. Pharmacists are often the people who catch drugs that would interact badly with each other, especially since so many people now see multiple doctors for different ailments and those doctors don't always communicate the best (or patients forget to tell their doctors everything they are already taking).
