I want a low-calorie diet.

I'm 16, over weight & really want to go on a diet. How do I tell my mom I want to be on a diet?

  • I'm 16 and I've been over weight my whole life I've been on diets at a young age & they have worked on me but now I want to ask my mom if she can put me back on the diet but for some reason I'm to scared to tell her I don't know why but I know that she can control my eating habits because I can't but I don't know how to start. I could really use the help.

  • Answer:

It shouldn't be up to your mom to "put you on" anything. Tell her what healthy food you want her to buy for you and bloody well eat it. I've given lots of advice on weight loss, so if you'd like some, just scroll down the questions. Self control is something that everybody must eventually learn or face serious consequences. You can keep putting it off or trying to pass off responsibility onto others until it bites you in the arse, or you can pull yourself into reality and take responsibility for your own health now. Your call. The sooner you get on this, the easier it will be.

Fad diets only work temporarily. As Cookie said, just eat healthy. I advise small, frequent, wholesome meals. 4-6 snack sized meals are actually better than 2-3 large meals.

Never be scared to ask for help when you need it. Especially from your parents. Be proud of yourself for realizing you need help. Just make sure you make a sincere effort in what you want to do and see it through no matter how hard it becomes. Nothing worth anything comes easy for anybody. Work hard and you can do it. Show your mom youre serious and would really appreciate her help. Good luck.

just do it without telling her and if you wanna tell her than just tell her straight up just go for it it's your body she can't controll it

Here's the (apparently) big secret. Over time, diets DONT WORK!!! Back in 2012 I lost 70 pounds. I have kept it off all this time. No dieting, no special foods, no supplements or medications. Understand that I was able to do this after having had a hysterectomy, being nearly 60 (slower metabolism) and I'm a diabetic. All these things are things that work against losing weight. Also understand, it's not about a diet, it's about how you live the rest of your life.

Just sit down with her and have a regular conversation then u can start talking about when you use to do diets before and if she could help you get on the right track. Good luck!!
