What is required to become a physical therapist?

What bachelor degrees are required to become a physical/occupational therapist? Most schools offer master degrees and I'm looking for a BS?

  • I'm currently in high school and want to look for a university that offers an undergraduate degree for those who want to practice physical therapy. Most schools only offer a master's degree. Is there supposed to be some BS degree that i need first before i study PT?

  • Answer:

Generally any medical/health related bachelor's degree will probably be fine, or something like Health Science. Then once you complete your BS, you can apply for a master's in PT/OT. In most cases PT/OT requires a master's degree, it's not just something that you can do a bachelor's and be done with.

I recommend do the MPT then apply for DPT school. There are no BSPT programs anymore. Trust me I know, I'm one and considered an antiquity.
