What are some reasons why high school is socially, educationally, and culturally more better than college?

I want to be a year-long exchange student in Japan in 11th grade and I have been working at this Japan dream for about 3 to 4 years now, I even taught myself Japanese to prepare for this (but, of course, I still have a long way to go). The only problem is, my parents don't feel like high school is a good time, and that I should wait for college. Even though I see that my parents have a valid point, I still absolutely hate the idea of being an exchange student in college. I have a TON of essays, slide shows, videos, print-outs, etc. etc. on the whole detail and process of being an exchange student and the last essay I want to write before I show my parents my final work is about why high school is more in-depth than college. I already have a few reasons (that I can't list because of the character limit). The thing is, I don't know many ideas of how to prove that college isn't as rich of an experience as a high school exchange. I have the ideas in my head but I don't know how to say them, and I need more reasons to back my side up. (And, of course, I'm going to back up what I'm saying in my reasons and not just list them one by one.) Any help/ideas?

Answer:
I have a friend who is going to France as an exchange student. As you are still living under your parent's roof, you are to obey them however I agree with you. If you are putting yourself into the investment your parents should respect that and let you accomplish your dreams. Gambate-yo!

I can't conceive of a single reason in debate either for or against a year of foreign exchange study either in HS or in college. When the opportunity arises, take it.

High school isn't better than college- and you're quite incorrect in claiming it's more in depth than college. It's rather the opposite. However that is irrelevant to when is a good time for a foreign exchange. Have you ever considered the possibility that the timing has to do with other things- like money? Foreign study is expensive, Japan VERY much so. There's also the fact that foreign study can sometimes put you behind in required graduation elements when done in high school in a way that doesn't happen in college.
