What do you have to do to take nursing classes?

What classes should I take in highschool for Neonatal nursing?

  • I'm currently in 8th grade, and in 2 weeks I get to pick my highschool classes, and I was wondering what classes would be best to take if i want to be a Neonatal nurse?

  • Answer:

Best thing you can do for yourself is apply for dual-credit courses. The AP program allows you to get college credit in high school. Most nursing programs require 2 years of pre-req's before the nursing program starts (if your going for a BSN), You'll get all the core class knowledge you need at that time. You should look into a MSN, which is a Master's of science in Nursing. You can choose to be a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.

I would take chemistry along with different types of health classes.

High school classes won't do any good for you unless they're AP classes. College is when you need to worry about what classes you take! XD But if I were you I'd take a lot of science classes, it couldn't do you any harm. Biology, anatomy, chemistry... Getting to know at least the basics in high school can help you out in college.

Decide which school you want to attend. Get a catalog from the school. Determine which courses in high school will best prepare you for their course set.
