Do dreams really mean anything in Hinduism?

Do dreams mean anything in Hinduism?Recently (April 2014) my brother, sister, and father passed away in a car crash and I was the only survivor. Shortly after the accident I've dreamt of all three of them being in heaven and all my dreams since have indicated positive afterlives for the three. Just last night though I dreamt of one of them not going to heaven (quite the opposite actually). Do dreams really mean anything in Hinduism? Do dreams really indicate anything? Especially considering the fact that all my other dreams pictured this person going to heaven.

Answer:
i'm so sorry for your loss, dreams are collections of memories and thoughts, but in your case, its very likely that your dreams are influenced by the accident or the PTSD that follows, so yes, they do mean everything in every religion to you.

Dreams are something that you are experiencing for 'real' in your astral body. Your physical body lets you experience things when you are awake. Your astral body lets you experience things when you fall asleep and they are named dreams. In Hinduism astral body is called 'sukshma sarira'. I feel for your loss. But don't let that pull you down. People end up in various planes based on their karma. Each of us are accumulating more and more of it every moment. So make use of the chance God has given you to generate positive karma. Do good deeds. Ponder on the purpose of life. Reflect on what happened and what you should do. Don't worry about what happened to your kith and kin. They are safe and taken care of by the masters. Read 'Autobiography of a Yogi' and you may find many answers to your questions.

Dreams could mean something, we never can tell. It may be your family trying to tell you something. But as for Hinduism, I don't believe in any religion so I can't say anything about that.

Maybe he did something in heaven that caused him to go down there. And I'm sorry that happened to you. I think some dreams have to be based off what you think because I don't think a god is sending you a wet dream. But dreams could be used as a messaging system. Maybe you had a thought and that dream came one night. Hope this helps

Dreams do mean something in Hinduism...but actually what you dream most of time is what happens in spirits world...so which means what you dream of them is what happened to them in spirits world...
