How to Delete Sims 2 Expansion Pack? (Read Description)

  • So I've had the Sims 2 for a while now, and I have four expansion packs. I have The Sims 2 (the original game), The Sims 2 Seasons, The Sims 2 Family Fun Stuff, The Sims 2 Holiday Edition, and the Sims 2 Pets. All of them run great, except for the Sims 2 Pets. It says that it was installed wrong, and that if I delete and re-install it, then it will work.It doesn't really harm my computer in any way, but I payed good money for this expansion pack, and right now, it doesn't let me have any pets. I've tried deleting it via "Add or Remove Programs" in the Control Panel of my computer (I have an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC), and putting it right into the Recycling Bin. Whenever I put it into the Recycling Bin, it says that it can only be removed via the Control Panel and redirects me to Add or Remove Programs. When here, I can't delete the program because there isn't an option. It still says it's installed on my computer, and I can't figure out how to delete it. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Do any of you know how I can fix this?

    Sounds like a download fragment error, I would download a software that let's you uninstall a program (make sure you save your game on your computer or a USB) you could download and get a free 30 day trial for VS REVO GROUP or search in your computer "uninstall" and choose the sims! Once you COMPLETELY remove it trey reinstalling everything!

I experienced the same issue. I ended up contacting EA regarding this who informed me only they can delete this through Origin. It was a huge mess and headache, but after 4 days (yes, 4 days!!) I had all the Sims 2 plus Sims 3 (at no charge). Like you, I had been attempting to delete 2 but life's too short to stress the little things! :)
