Is My Hermit Crab Asleep or Just Dead?

Is my hermit crab dead or is it just molting?

I picked up my hermit crab today and it fell out of it's shell. It hasn't moved since then and that was a few hours ago. What should I do?

It's dead man. :( You can always by a rabbit or another hermit crab.

Well it can be hard to tell. If it's white It could just be shedding. I would wait a few days to see what happens. It sounds like it might be dead sorry!!! But it will smell like rotting fish when they die.
